WHAT IS our used RAILWAY BALLAST MADE OF?
Our Used Track / Railway Ballast is composed of crushed stone which has been used in railway construction. It typically includes angular rocks, primarily granite, which has been selected for its durability and ability to support railway ties. When originally used the ballast is designed to interlock and create a stable base that can bear heavy loads, while also providing drainage to prevent water accumulation.
WHAT SIZE AND SPECIFICATION IS our used RAILWAY BALLAST?
Our Used Railway Ballast is approx. 70-30mm down and tested to a 1B fill specification, providing consistency in size and composition for optimal performance. It varies slightly in colour, but is a consistent-looking homogeneous secondary aggregate.

Our railway ballast is delivered loose in approx. 20-tonne loads using our 8-wheeled tipper trucks, with a minimum order of 10 tonnes.

The price consists of both the product cost and the delivery charges. It is typically cheaper than primary quarried aggregates, but slightly more expensive than recycled crushed brick / concrete, but much better quality.
